Born Nov. 8, 1940, at home in Squirrel Hill, son of Charlotte (McCutcheon) Rea of Hooversville, and the late Robert J. Rea Jr. Also survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Joan Guy; children Robert J. IV, McDonough, Ga.; John O., married to the former Colleen Carrigan, Slippery Rock; Blythe, married to Bruce Wechtenhiser, Johnstown; and Beverly Snyder, Austin, Texas; and grandchildren: Robert J. V, Brody M., and John O. Rea II, and Noelle D. Wechtenhiser. Also survived by a sister Charlotte Rea Hill, Lakeworth, Fla., and a niece Heidi Malatesta, Boynton Beach, Fla. Graduate of Crafton High School, and attended California State University. Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War. Former girls' basketball and softball coach at North Star High School. Member of the Stoystown Lions Club where he had served as president and treasurer, and is a Melvin Jones Fellow. He was a breeder and exhibitor of purebred Samoyeds for 37 years, and an adjuster and agent for Nationwide Insurance for 35 years. He was an avid golfer and "O" gauge train enthusiast. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. James Laughery officiating. Lions service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
