Ream 87 of Berlin, died February 8, 2008 at Somerset Hospital. He was born February 17, 1920 in Berlin, son of John O. Sr. and Zella (Wetmiller) Ream. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: John O. Jr., Norman B., and Joseph Michael Ream. He is survived by his wife of 61 years the former Ruth Johnson; children: Ann married to William Slifco, Berlin, and Frank C. Jr., New York City; grandson William J. Slifco Jr.; sister Mary Kretchman, Meyersdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and Stanton Military Academy. He was a World War II Army veteran having served three years in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from the former Fox Grocery Co, Belle Vernon. Frank was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin where he was a former Deacon and Elder, member of Berlin American Legion, V.F.W., and Last Man's Club, and 45 year member of Berlin Fire Co. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16th at Trinity U.C.C., Berlin. Rev. Matthew Deal and Rev. Ralph Landis officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
