Rearick, a much beloved retired Lutheran minister, who in years past was pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Salisbury, died May 4, at the age of 84 years. He was a native of Beavertown, Pa., but lived in Mifflintown since he retired from the ministry 14 years ago. In 1889 he was ordained as a minister of the Lutheran Church, and before he retired served charges at Salisbury, Centre Hall, Salena, Williamsburg and Mifflintown. He is survived by these children: W. S. Rearick, Phoenix, Arizona; Paul C., Everett; L. M. Rearick, New Kensington; Mrs. W. J. Brascamp, Huron, S.D.; Mrs. J. S. Shannon, of Millheim, and Alice P., a teacher in Mifflintown High School. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Surviving also are brothers, Rev. Dr. William Rearick, pastor of the Mifflintown Lutheran Church, and John Rearick of Beavertown. Funeral services were conducted May 6, in the Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, in charge of Rev. Paul Lanter, the pastor. Interment was in Middleburg Cemetery. Among the many people from many places who attended the funeral, was Mrs. George C. Haselbarth, a niece and former parishioner, of Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, May 11, 1944
