"Chuck" 05/01/08 Daily American Charles R. "Chuck" Reckner Sr., 81, Boswell, died unexpectedly April 29, 2008, at Somerset Hospital. Born April 13, 1927, in Johnstown, son of Theodore R. and Olive (Smith) Reckner. Preceded in death by parents; and son, Richard L. "Rick" on Aug. 4, 1998. Survived by wife of 59 years, the former Theresa Biondo; children, Charles Jr., married to the former Sharon Custer, Boswell; James, married to the former Pam Fessler, Davidsville; and Theresa, married to Alan Pelesky, Boswell; daughter-in-law, Janie (Criser) Reckner, Jenner Township; grandchildren, Shannon, Eric, Robbie, Brooke, Brad, Brant, Gwen, Allyson and Cory; great-grandchildren, Cole, Luke and Brody. Brother of Raymond, married to the former Jeanie Bowser, Kissimmee, Fla.; Doris Ruth, married to Rudolph Meyers, Denver; and Mary Rachael, married to Oron Jacobs, Livingston, Mont. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served with the Seabees. Retired employee of former Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp., Gautier Division with 37 years of service. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, Jenner Rod & Gun Club and Boswell Post 461 American Legion. Chuck enjoyed bowling and fishing with his good friends Al Wheeler and Bill Budzina. He also enjoyed camping at Pioneer Park with his other special friends but he especially loved spending time with his wife and family. Viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where a vigil for the deceased will be held 3 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Church, Boswell. The Rev. Fr. Justin A. Ratajczak, OFM Conv., celebrant.
