Reckner, 81, of Confluence, died Feb. 27, 2003, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 17, 1921, in Confluence, she is the daughter of the late Lewis and Grace (Hyatt) Whaley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen, and sisters, Mead Beachy, Dorothy McClintock and Mary Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Harvey W. Reckner, a son Harvey Jr. and his wife Ida Mae, and daughter-in-law Bernice Reckner, all of Confluence; three granddaughters, Venus Stark and husband Jeff of Addison, Julie Adamsky and husband Doug, and Stephanie Speicher and husband Wayne, all of Confluence; three great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, a sister Betty Warrick and brothers John, William, Delmar and Arnold Whaley, all of Confluence. She was a member of the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday school and was a superintendent for many years. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating. Interment in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Daily American, March 1, 2003 [R195]
