Born Sept. 8, 1917, at Salisbury, he was a son of the late Charles and Annie (Tipton) Reckner. Reckner was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, an Army/Air Force veteran of World War II, a member of Midnight Rollers Bowling League and Senior Citizens. He was a retired machinist for Celanese Corp., Cumberland. Survivors include his wife, Madeline (Dust) Reckner; a daughter, Patricia Showalter, Salisbury; a sister, Ethel Williams, Stoystown; and a granddaughter, Scotti Ann Showalter, Salisbury. Friends were received Sunday at the Newman Funeral Home. The service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. The body was taken to the church one hour prior to the services. Family requests contributions to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial fund.
