Reckner, 89, Jerome, DOA June 10, 1990, at Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 28, 1900, in Salisbury. Son of Charles and Anne (Tipton) Reckner. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Ada Shroyer, who died in 1970; stepchildren: Clifford Spangler, Mary Alexander and Ray Spangler; sisters: Ella Manners, Eva Layton and Florence Carrico, and brothers: William, LeRoy and James. Survived by his wife, the former Mayme (Leslie) Spangler, and these children: James Reckner, married to the former Ethel Kurtz; Albert "Tub" Reckner, married to the former Ruth Rodeheaver, Euldean, wife of Robert Shields; Naomi, wife of Robert Oaks, and Janice Lint, all of Jerome; Donna, wife of Warren H. Shaffer Jr. of Hooversville, and Dorcas, wife of James Garlcaky, Hollsopple; stepchildren: Dorcas, wife of Glenn Witt, of York; Marlin Spangler, Hollsopple RD 1; Roy Spangler, Altoona, and Betty, wife of Richard Bergman of Ashland, Ohio; also 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 22 step-grandchildren, 33 step-great grandchildren and two step-great-great grandchildren. Brother of Ethel, wife of Arthur Williams, Stoystown RD 1; Theodore, Jerome; Albert, Columbus, Ohio, and Frank of Salisbury. Long-time member of Jerome Church of the Nazarene, where he was a church greeter, usher and past Sunday school teacher. Helped construct current church building. Also member of UM WA. A retired coal miner with 47 years' service. An avid baseball fan and last played for Jenners Baseball team in 1954. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street Boswell. Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jerome Church of the Nazarene, where viewing will also be held from 10 am. until the time of service, Rev. Peter Scharler. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
