Reckner, 68, of Uniontown, formerly of Confluence, died Dec. 1, 1994, at Uniontown Hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Confluence, a son of the late William H. and Estella (Show) Reckner. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Jane (Boord) Reckner; and the following children: Diane Silbaugh of Confluence; Patricia May of Athens, Teresa Dively, Victoria Edwards, Tammy Kemp and Candice Casteel, all of Confluence, John C. of University Park, Md., and David of Confluence; two stepchildren, Carolyn Berryhill of Edgewood, N.M.; and Jerrilyn Cuppett of Addison; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five step great-grandchildren. Also four sisters, Helen Biszantz of Matthews, N.C.; Jeanne McNamara of Baltimore, Md., Betty Beckett of New Stanton, and Mildred Conn of Confluence. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry, and a sister, Alta Tannehill. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Confluence VFW, Post 7250; Confluence Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as chief for 30 years and captain for eight years, Turkeyfoot Fish and Game Association, 3 Rivers Rod, Gun and Bow Club, and Calvary Baptist Church of Uniontown. He was a former member of Turkeyfoot Valley Area School Board and the Confluence Resident Council. Former employee of Riverside Ford Sales for 43 years. Presently employed by Holiday Inn of Uniontown. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Padgett and the Rev. James Smiley officiating. Interment, Confluence Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Turkeyfoot Valley Baptist Church or Confluence Volunteer Fire Department. Daily American, December 3, 1994 [R203]
