  Dow P. Reed, 83, Old Lincoln Highway, Stoystown, died Nov. 20, 1997, at
  home.  Born Nov. 27, 1913, in Windber, son of Lorenzo and Sarah (Pheasant)
  Reed.  Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Guy, Donald, Bruce and
  Kenneth; sisters: Dorothy Fyock and Evelyn Hudson.  Survived by his wife of
  56 years, the former Irma Herr, daughters: Beverly, married to William
  Kennedy and Lorrie, married to Clyde I. Ware, both of Stoystown; Betty,
  married to Robert Friedline, Jennerstown; and Suzanne, married to David
  Alumbaugh, Friedens; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, five
  step-grandchildren and sister, Alta Keller, Hollidaysburg.  Retired welder
  and mechanic.  Member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Somerset Pike,
  Boswell.  Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing from 10 a.m. until
  time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, with-
  the Revs. Chauncey Ickes and Gary Anderson officiating.  Interment,
  Lambertsville Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the American Heart
  Association.
