  Gladys M. "Toots" (Johnson) Reed, 84, Boswell RD 1, died unexpectedly Dec.
  31, 1993, at home.  Born Oct. 30, 1909, in Jenner Township, daughter of Noah
  and Eliza Ann (Snyder) Johnson.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, David
  D., in 1972; sisters, Elizabeth "Maggie" Smith and Vera "Beck" Homer, and
  brothers, George "Bailey" and James "Possum."  Survived by daughter, Betty
  Louise, wife of Joseph Smith, Glen Rock, and sons Robert, Stoystown RD;
  Donald, married to Nancy Mills, Jennerstown, and Gary, married to Alyce
  Shippey, Boswell RD 1; 11 grandchildren, including Tracy Reed, wife of
  Scott MacDonald, Stoystown RD 3, whom she raised.  Also 15
  greatgrandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.  Sister of Eugene
  "Bud," Derry; Noah "Joe"; Ellis "Mooney" and Leonard "Bill," all of Boswell
  RD 1, and Mary, wife of Charles Gilbert, and Betty Jane, wife of Elmer
  Homer, both of Hollsopple RD 1; also numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of
  Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, and Knotty Ladies
  of the church.  Friends were received Sunday evening and will be received
  from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral home, Allegheny
  Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 10 am. Tuesday, Rev. Edward
  N. Corneilson officiating.  Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jenner Township.
