Reese, 80, of East Main St., Ligonier, died March 3, 1993, at her home. She was born Nov. 1, 1912, in Shanksville, a daughter of the late William and Winnie Spangler Lowry. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Ligonier. She and her late husband formerly owned and operated Que Mahoning Indian Post, Ligonier. She was a graduate nurse from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, Class of 1934. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Reese, on July 29, 1990. She is survived by a son, Charles L. Reese of Homosassa, Fla.; and a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Carolyn J.) Foreback of Allentown; five brothers —Frank, Telford and Kenneth Lowry, all of Shanksville; Carl Lowry of Dillard, Ga., and Don Lowry of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Kathryn Walker of Somerset; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the McCabe Funeral Home, 244 W. Main SL, Ligonier, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Additional viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the parlor of St. James Lutheran Church, Ligonier. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the St. James Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William M. Oesterlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
