Reese, 82, died July 17, 2005, in Stow, Ohio. Born Feb. 3, 1923, in Somerset County he is the son of the late Mahlon and Edna Reese. Also preceded in death by brother Clark Reese; sister, Ethel (Frank) Pyle and nephew, Dale Reese. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy E. Miller, Stow; daughter and son-in-law Janice and Leon Richardson, Corona, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Susan Reese, Tom and Janet Reese, all of Stow; grandchildren, Tim Reese, Columbus, Amy and Joe Santuomo, Akron, Ohio; Todd Reese and Casey Richardson, Stow, Jennifer Richardson, Corona, Calif.; and Kristy and Ryan Carlson, Berkley, Mich.; sister, Alverda (Charles) Gary; brother, Floyd Reese, Somerset; and numerous nieces and nephews. As a young man he worked in the coal mines of Pennsylvania before moving to Stow in 1953 to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He worked for Goodyear in Akron and Union City, Tenn., for 35 years. Upon retirement, he returned to Stow where he became an avid gardener and woodworker. He was an active member of First Christian Church, Stow, for 43 years where he served in many capacities. He is a World War II veteran. He was a member of Lodge 358 F&AM in Somerset since 1950, was a 32nd degree mason and also belonged to FOE for 45 years. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Redmon Funeral Home, where Stow Lodge 768 F&AM will conduct Masonic service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Stow. Interment Stow Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian of Stow Building Fund, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow 44224.
