  Joan L. Reese, 68, of Shanksville, died Oct. 24, 1997, at Mercy Hospital,
  Pittsburgh.  Born April 5, 1929, in Shanksville, daughter of Orange and
  Lottie (Buchanan) Lambert.  Preceded in death by parents; brother, James,
  sisters, Ruth Colvin and Wilma Lambert.  Survived by a daughter, Rebecca,
  married to Robert Withers of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and a son, Scott of
  Shanksville.  Sister of Hazel Livengood and Vernon Lambert, both of
  Somerset.  A 1947 graduate of Shanksville-Stonycreek High School.  Retired
  income maintenance caseworker for Department of Public Welfare.  Member of
  St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville.  Family will receive friends from 2
  to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing
  from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Sunday, at St. Mark Lutheran Church,
  Shanksville.  Rev. Richard T. Carter officiating.  Interment, Walker
  Cemetery, Shanksville.  Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mark
  Lutheran Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
