  REESE
  
  John R. Reese, 61, of 239 W. Catherine St., Somerset, died June 8, 1989, at
  his residence.  Born Aug. 25, 1927, in Middlecreek Township, son of the late
  Chalmer H. and Nettie K. (Pritts) Reese.  Preceded in death by his parents
  and a brother, Blair.  Survived by wife, the former Mary Jane Palomba; and a
  brother, Glenn Reese of Tyler, Texas.  He was the Director of Social
  Services and Admissions at the Somerset State Hospital.  Veteran of the U.S.
  Air Force.  Past Director of Social Services at Somerset Hospital; past
  president of Somerset County Health and Welfare Council.  Past President of
  Somerset County Easter Seals Society; chairman of Easter Seals Society
  Speech Therapy Committee.  Member of the Central Chapter of the National
  Association of Social Workers; member of the Somerset County Committee for
  Employment of the Handicapped.  Charter member of and diplomate of the
  American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.  Member of the Academy
  of Certified Social Workers.  Headed the steering committee for the
  formation of Meals on Wheels in Somerset County.  Member of the board of
  directors of Somerset County Salvation Army.  Graduate of Somerset High
  School and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown; also, the University
  of Pittsburgh School of Social Work.  Member of the First Christian Church
  of Somerset.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday
  at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where service will be conducted
  Sunday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Willlam Sleasman officiating.  Interment,
  Somerset County Memorial Park.
