Reffner, 88, of Somerset, passed away March 20, 2002, at Mallard House in Middlecreek Township. Born Sept. 25, 1913 in Spangler, son of the late James and Olive (Mott) Reffner. Preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Timothy John Reffner, sister Gertrude Schuh, and brothers Alton, Norman, David and Robert Reffner. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen (Chupek) Reffner; children David "Skip," married to Carol (Newman) Reffner, Charlene "Charlie" Jablonski, and Geraldine "Buck," married to Jeffrey Johnson, all of Somerset; grandchildren Tracy Reffner, Tiffany Hajel, Tanner and Todd Reffner, Christopher, David and Courtney Jablonski, and Adam and Gwen Johnson; great-granddaughter Cailey Ann Jablonski; and step-greatgrandchildren, Seth and Steffan Jablonski. Brother of Dwin Hughes of Somerset, Roy Reffner of Akron, Ohio, Howard Reffner of Tempe, Ariz., and Dodie Patrick of Somerset. Veteran of the Army in World War II who served in Burma. Owner-operator of Reffner's Tire and Wheel Alignment Service from 194879. Member of the Jenner Rod and Gun Club, the Somerset American Legion Post 181, and the V.F.W. Post 554 in Somerset. Member of St. Peter's Church in Somerset. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Church. Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli celebrant. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
