Born Sept. 13, 1920, at Ralphton, Quemahoning Township, Somerset County. Son of the late James Cellis and Olive Marie (Mott) Reffner. Preceded in death by three brothers: Alton, Norman and David Reffner. Survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Elouise Barron, to whom he was married for 52 years; these children: Robert C. Reffner Jr., Port Hatchineha, Ha.; Thomas J. Reffner, married to the former Sue Riehle, Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Charles R. (Amy Marie) Glessner, Friedens RD 2; grandchildren: Mrs. Matt (Jackie) Cramer, New Centerville; Mrs. James (Michelle) Maynard, Pittsburgh; Joshua and Jonathan Glessner, Friedens RD 2, and Tara Reffner, Johnstown. Brother of Roy Reffner, Akron, Ohio; Charles "Skip" Reffner, Somerset; Howard Reffner, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Gertrude Schuh, West Newton; Mrs. Dwin Hughes, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Dodie Patrick, Somerset. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church; Somerset Lodge 358, F.&A.M.; Somerset County Shrine Club; Jaffa Shrine; Harrisburg Consistory; Wills Grange; Laurel Ridge Sportsman Club; Jenner Rod and Gun Club; Somerset County Fly Fishers; Somerset County Beef Producersn and Somerset VFW Post 554. Retired employee of the North Somerset Turnpike Exxon Service Station. U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, serving in both Atlantic and Pacific theaters with occupation forces in Nagasaki, Japan. Owned and operated the West Wind Farm raising Black Angus cattle. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. James R. Ling officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 651 S.
