"Mays" 12/18/07 Daily American Mirko W. "Mays" Rehar, 84, Windber, went to be with the Lord Dec. 17, 2007, at the Regional Hospice of Windber. Born July 3, 1923, in Bolivar, the son of Anton and Jennie (Marincic) Rehar. Preceded in death by parents and infant sister. Survived by wife of 57 years, Helen (Jordan) Rehar; and these children, Karen, wife of Sam Berkey, Somerset; Robert Rehar, married to the former Joanne Bush, Johnstown; John Rehar, Johnstown; and Susan, wife of Michael Fariss, Irwin; grandchildren, Lindi, Leanne and Ryan Berkey, and Jordan and Tara Rehar. Brother of Luttie Rehar and wife, Martha, Punxsutawny; William Rehar, New York; Herman Rehar, Delaney; and Tillie, wife of Paul Renosky, Du Bois; also numerous nieces and nephews. A U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. Former coal miner having worked at North Western Mining Co. and Exchange, Kramer and retired coal miner, Bethlehem Mines No. 33, where he worked as a supervisor with a combined total of 39 years service. Member of Windber Slovak Club, Windber Sportsman's Club and Windber Argument Club. Mirko was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. A member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, where funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Matthew Misurda celebrant. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regional Hospice of Windber in Mirko's memory.
