Reiber, 108 Park Ave., Somerset, died in the Community Hospital there at 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22nd. He was a conductor on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for many years. He was aged 49 years, 5 months and 20 days. Mr. Reiber was born in Lonaconing, Md., the son of Herman and Elizabeth (Ashton) Reiber on December 2, 1895. He was married to Elsie M. Berkey. He is survived by his parents here in Salisbury; his wife, a son, John, Turtle Creek, Pa., a daughter Daisy, at home; six sisters, Mrs. Lester Deal, Mrs. Dick Hickson and Mrs. Marshall Brown, of Salisbury; Mrs. Harry Garlitz, Greensburg; Mrs. Robert Hahn, Grindstone, Pa.; and Mrs. Glenn Miller, Salem, Ohio; and three brothers, Walter and Harry of Meyersdale, and George of Akron, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the Church of God in Somerset at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 with Rev. D. M. Lykeps, pastor, officiating. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Somerset, in charge of Mortician Charles R. Hauger, Somerset. Meyersdale Republican, May 24, 1945
