Reiber, Sr., 78, a native of Uniontown, died instantly, August 1, of a cerebral hemorrhage at his home in East Cleveland, O. At the time of his death, Mr. Reiber was an elevator man in the Union Building, Euclid Ave., Cleveland, where he was employed for 15 years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics. Born near Meyersdale, a son of the late George and Kathryn Reiber, he spent his early life in this vicinity until about the age of 18. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna M. Reiber; four sons, Lewis G., Jr., William F., Arthur H., and Kenneth E. Reiber; three daughters, Mrs. Carl C. (Mildred V.) Shirer, Mrs. Lillian M. Fisher and Mrs. Edward C. (Vivian J.) Almgren, and nine grandchildren, all of Cleveland; and by two brothers, George Albert, McKeesport and Benjamin C. Reiber, Meyersdale. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 5, at 2:30 p.m. at the Rinear- Lambert Funeral Home, East Cleveland, with interment in the Acacia Park Cemetery. His four sons and two sons-in-law, Mr. Shirer and Mr. Almgren, acted as pallbearers. Meyersdale Republican, August 21, 1947
