Reiley, 85, of Felgar Road, Somerset, Pa., died Oct. 9, 1999, in Life Care of Attleboro, Mass. She was the wife of the late Henry B. Reiley Jr. She was born in Norton, Mass., a daughter of the late David and Lillian C. (Austin) Holmes. She had lived in Somerset for the past 41 years. She graduated from Norton High School in 1931 and Framingham State teachers college in 1935 with a BS in Education. She served a one-year dietary internship at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston in 1936 and had served as assistant administrative dietitian at Children's Hospital in Boston from 1936 to 1939 and at MA Memorial Hospital in Boston from 1939 to 1940 and at the Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh for six months in 1959 before joining the staff at the former Somerset Community Hospital in November of 1959 where she worked until, retiring Jan. 1, 1970. Before moving to Somerset, she worked with her late husband for 18 years with his work with the Central PA and Ohio conferences of the Methodist church. She was active with several professional newspaper and dietetic associations. She was listed in "Who's Who Among American Women." She had served as president of Somerset Newspapers, Inc., a family-owned business until October 1997 and continued to serve as president of E Z to Use Directories, Inc. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Somerset and served on the board of the Arbutus Park Retirement Community, Johnstown, Pa. She had funded scholarships at Boston Univ., Boston Univ. Theological seminary, Phillips Exeter Academy, Tilton School, Wheaton College and Allegheny College of Meadville, Pa. She leaves two sons, Henry B. Reiley III of Attleboro, Mass., and David H.. Reiley of Somerset, Pa.; one sister Esther Holmes of Norton, Mass.; four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ruth H. Mercier, A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, in the Calvary United Methodist Church, 239 West Church St., Somerset, Pa. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the Cook Funeral Home, 160 Park St. Attleboro, Mass.
