JOHN E. REITZ

  John E. Reitz, former resident of Salisbury, passed away in the Harrisburg 
Hospital, Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m.  He was employed as an elevator operator 
in the Capitol building in Harrisburg.  He was taken ill with a blood clot in 
his leg and entered the hospital September 27 where he was a patient for 11 
days.  On November 11 he was stricken with a heart attack and was returned to 
the hospital by ambulance where he remained in a serious condition until his 
death.
  He is survived by his wife, Verna Stevens Reitz; three daughters, Mrs. Harry 
Goss, Mrs. Robert Reigh and Mrs. Robert Hamsher, all of Chambersburg; one son, 
John E. Reitz Jr.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Kann, Pittsburgh, 
and Mrs. Ella Rumiser, Washington, Pa., and one brother, William Reitz, Jerome.
  Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 28, at 8:30 p.m. at the Fisher Funeral 
Home, Harrisburg, and interment was made in Alto Rest Cemetery, Altoona, on 
Monday afternoon.
