Reitz, 88, of White Star Residence, Jennerstown, and formerly of Cairnbrook RD 1, died Feb. 10, 1993, at Windber Hospital. Born March 25, 1904, in Shade Township, son of David and Clara (Umberger) Reitz. Preceded in death by parents; brothers - Clyde, Emmett, Eugene, Fred and Jennings; sisters - Willa and Mary Reitz and Gladys Bittner, and nephew, Ronald Reitz. Survived by niece, Joyce E. Reitz, and sister-in-law, Alice Reitz, both of Shanksville; great nephew, Jonathan Reitz of Davidsville. Retired carpenter. Was well known for his handcrafted oak porch swings. Army veteran of WW II. Member of Graef's Lutheran Church, Cairnbrook, and Central City American Legion and VFW. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Friday at Grad's Lutheran Church, Rev. Merlin O. Sjoberg. Interment, McGregor Cemetery.
