Rephorn, aged 50, died recently at his home in Huntingdon, Pa. He was born in Bedford County and came to Meyersdale from Frostburg, Md., when a young man, and for some years was employed as an itinerant sewing machine and musical instrument salesman. While so employed he injured his spine while lifting an automobile and was an invalid the remainder of his life. In 1915 Mr. Rephorn was elected County Treasurer on a "Sympathy" platform, and served his four year term very satisfactorily. At the primary election in 1919 he was a Republican candidate for County Commissioner, but was defeated. Judge Berkey shortly afterward appointed him door-keeper of courtroom No. 1, which position he held until several years ago. Mr. Rephorn and family moved to Huntingdon two years ago in order that the three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Rephorn could enroll as students in Juniata College. He is survived by his wife, a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Powell, of Hyndman, and three daughters. Funeral services were held in Grace Evangelical Church, Somerset, followed by burial in the Husband Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 8, 1931
