Clarence Rhoads, 88, Jenner Township, died May 17, 2006, at Somerset Hospital. Born Feb. 1, 1918, in Jenner Township, son of Royal and Jeanetta (Shaulis) Rhoads. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Frances L. Lohr, Dec. 5, 1989; daughter, Judy Drenning, July 17, 2005; sister, Luella Beale; and mother and father-in-law, Parnel and Milton Lohr. Survived by children, Allen, married to Judith Discavage, Jenner Township; Glenn and wife, New Centerville; Nancy, married to James Elder, Jefferson Township; and Duane, married to Marie Hoover, Lincoln Township; son-in-law, John Drenning, Jenner Township; grandchildren, Lisa, married to Joseph Grosholz; Karen, married to Shawn Wills; Scott Rhoads; Michael Rhoads, and wife, Heather; Jared Rhoads; and Jill Benford; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Tyler Grosholz and Hanna and Christian Rhoads; sister, Kathryn Miller; and brothers-in-law, Paul Lohr, and wife, Jean; Don Lohr; and Wayne Young. Also survived by special caregiver, Virginia Ryan. He was a lifetime member of the Horner Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he had been active in numerous capacities and formerly served as president of the Horner-Mount Tabor Cemetery Board. He is a 1936 graduate of the former Boswell High School and also a 1940 graduate of Penn State, where he belonged to Delta Theta Sigma Agricultural Fraternity. Lifelong Jenner Township farmer, having been the third generation on the family farm, currently operated by his son and grandson. Past member and vice president of the former Jenner-Boswell School Board. He had been on the board of directors of the former People's Bank and Trust, Jennerstown. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Horner Church. The Rev. Joseph E.
