Born Aug. 13, 1907, in Somerset Township, son of the late Charles and Carrie (Hemminger) Rhodes. Preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Survived by widow, the former Irene Ankney, and these children: Mrs. Jack (Arlene) Hall, Wadsworth, Ohio; Donald and Mrs. William (Patricia) Lape, both of Pittsburgh; William of Somerset RD 6; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brother of Elmer, Somerset RD 1. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Lavansville and AARP. Owned and operated a farm and trucking for 42 years. Friends received after 2 p.m. Saturday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Lavansville, with the Rev. Walter Startzel officiating. The body will lie in state at church from 1 p.m. until service time with no viewing. Interment, Bethany Cemetery.
