Rhodes, 75, formerly of Roaring Spring, died June 17, 1967, at Church of the Brethren Home, Scalp Level. Born April 25, 1892, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Emmanuel and Mary (Knavel) Rhodes. Surviving are his wife, the former Rose M. Lybarger, and these children, Mrs. Clara Whistler, Akron; Mrs. Dorothy Mosholder, Berlin RD 1; Mrs. Mary Tattarelli, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; William, Altoona; Calvert, Berlin RD 4; and Mrs. Lois Cameron, Roaring Spring; also 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Blair, Windber, and Waldo. Johnstown; and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Blue, Johnstown, and Mrs. Mayme Benchoff, Warren, Ohio. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, a graduate of Juniata College, Huntingdon; past president of Berlin Lions Club and of Roaring Spring Rotary Club. Before moving to Roaring Spring, he served as pastor of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren, where funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Herald V. Seese officiating. Interment was made in the Pike cemetery, under direction of Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin. Meyersdale Republican, June 22, 1967 [R457]
