  RHODES
  
  Irene Rhodes, 95, of Somerset, died July 16, 2002, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born April 30, 1907 in Jefferson Township, she is a
  daughter of William Henry and Margaret Elizabeth (Kimmel) Ankney.  She
  was preceded in death by parents; husband Fred D. Rhodes who died
  March 8, 1979; brothers: William E. James; Edward and Cloyd Ankney;
  sisters: Lucy Walker, Elda Shaulis, Grace Crossen and infant sister
  Mary Ankney.  She is survived by these children: Mrs. Jack (Arlene)
  Hall of Wadsworth, Ohio; Donald Rhodes and wife Patricia of
  Pittsburgh; Mrs. William (Patricia) Lape of Pittsburgh; William
  Rhodes and wife Carol of Somerset; nine grandchildren and 20
  great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of Mrs. Walter (Marian)
  Kocher of Big Stone Gap, Va.; Mrs. Earl (Velma) Barclay of Somerset
  and Emory Ankney of Berlin.  She was a member of Grace United
  Methodist Church and the Singles Club in Lavansville.  She enjoyed
  gardening and knitting.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to
  9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home Somerset. Services
  will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist
  Church, Somerset with the Rev. Charles F. Olson officiating.
  Interment at Bethany Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Grace
  United Methodist Church, 320 Felgar Rd. Somerset, Pa. 15501.
