Born April 26, 1917, in Lincoln Township. Son of the late Clark McKinley and Viola (Sleasman) Rhodes. Also preceded in death by son, Larry J. Rhodes; brother, Jay Rhodes, and sister, Rena Rhodes. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Margie V. Miller; three children: Mrs. Jack M. (Connie) Schrock, Latrobe RD 5; Ronald M. Rhodes, married to the former Pamela Ankney, Sipesville; Mrs. J. Brian (Trudy Ann) Miller, Racine, Wis. Also eight grandchildren: Timothy B. Schrock, Tamera Walton, Kimberly A. Scott and Christopher T. Rhodes, Michelle Moon, Marty and Michael R. Petrosky, and four great grandchildren: Adam and Chad Walton, Shawn Rhodes and Miranda Moon. Brother of Mrs. David A. (Thelma) Barron, Somerset RD 3; Roy F. Rhodes, Mount Pleasant; Mrs. George (Maude) Engbert, New Baltimore; Mrs. Lynn (Pauline) Reiking, Somerset RD 2, and Robert Rhodes, Somerset RD 1. Member of Samuel's Lutheran Church. Was an avid racing fan and member of the Rhodes Racing Team. Truck driver for former Cooper-Jarrett Trucking Co. for 18 years. He was co-owner of Miller-Rhodes Sheet Metal Fabricating Co. of Somerset. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. John J. Palko officiating.
