Rice, 80, of Kennett Square, PA, formerly of Meyersdale, died Monday, April 19, 1993 at the Southern Chester County Medical Center. He was the husband of Evelyn Grace Swearman Rice. Born in Ridgeley,WV, he was a son of the late Charles and Sarah Rice. Mr. Rice was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and a member of the 69th Infantry Division Association. In 1991, he attended the 50th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor Survivors in Hawaii. Mr. Rice was employed for many years as an auto body mechanic for Nute Motors, Inc., formerly of Kennett Square, PA. He was a member of the Swayne, Campbell, Testa VFW Post #5467 of Kennett Square. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn G. Rice of Kennett Square; one daughter, Joann Roberta Donaldson of Nanticoke, PA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
