  BEATRICE E. (SMITH) RICE
  
  Beatrice E. (Smith) Rice, 88, York, formerly of Somerset, died April 10,
  2004, at her residence.  Born in Kimmelton, Aug. 29, 1915, the daughter of
  the late Calvin and Elizabeth (Boyer) Smith.  Wife of the late Earl J. Rice.
  She is survived by four sons, Blaine Long of Youngstown, Ohio, Jerry Rice of
  Somerset, Sheridan Rice of Deming, N.M. and Allen Rice of Erie; two
  daughters, Betty Stauch and Donna Rice, both of York; 12 grandchildren and
  numerous grandchildren.  She worked at the Somerset Hospital for 13 years
  before retiring.  Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be held at 3 p.m.
  Burial will be in Somerset County Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may
  be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., suite
  202, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110.
