  Helen Virginia Rice, 85, of Somerset, formerly of Cumberland, Md.,
  died June 9, 1998, at Somerset Hospital.  Born Sept. 4, 1912, in Black
  Township, the daughter of Edward E. and Agnes Emma (Rohbaugh) Humbert.
  Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Dora (Miller) Humbert;
  husband, James Robert Rice Jr., who died in 1981; an infant son;
  brothers: Virgil, Glenn, Robert and Gene Humbert; sister: Catherine
  H. Walter.  Survived by sister: Mrs. Kenneth (Leona) Long of
  Johnstown.  Half-sister of Mrs. Frances "Peggy" Dunmyer and Mrs. James
  "Red" (Mildred) Ferrell, both of Somerset; Mrs. Zola Clark of Norfolk,
  Va.; James Humbert of Somerset.  Stepsister of Mrs. Alice Critchfield
  of Cleveland, Ohio.  Member of St. Peter's & Paul Catholic Church of
  Cumberland and attended St. Peter's Catholic Church of Somerset.
  Retired registered nurse from Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where Rite of Christian Burial will be
  conducted 10 a.m. Friday, with the Msgr. Samuel J. Tomaselli
  officiating.  Interment, St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Cumberland, Md.
