  RICE
  
  Josephine (Smith) Rice, 95, of Siemon Lakeview Manot Estate, formerly
  of Boswell, died. Feb. 16, 2002 at the manor.  Born July 1, 1906 in
  Hyndman, daughter of Henry and Anna (Corley) Smith.  Preceded in death
  by parents; husband, Jacob E. Rice, March 6, 1964; one infant
  daughter; four infant sons; special grandson Joseph J. Zablotny, May
  17, 1983; also grandsons Robin Pope, Lloyd Sadowsky and Eugene
  Walter; brothers Wallet and John and sisters Pearl Kirchner and
  Thelma Berkebile.  Survived by these children, Betty, wife of Joseph
  S. Zablotney and John Rice, both of Boswell, Gloria, widow of Robert
  Pope, Fishertown, Janet Craig, Somerset and Sandra wife of Hubert
  Walter, Osterburg; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 12
  step-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law
  Catherine Smith, Hyndman and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of
  the ILGWU, attended the former Boswell Church of the Nazarene.
  Retired employee of the former Dorfman and Hoffman Garment Factory
  with 25 years service.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where
  service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday.  The Rev. C. J. Ickes,
  officiating.  Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.  In lieu of
  flowers memorials may be given to the Laurelhill Gospel, Tabernacle,
  7415 Somerset Pike Boswell, 15531.
