"Lefty" Rich, 84, 113 Berwick Rd., Johnstown, died April 19, 2001 at home. Born Aug. 7, 1916 in Windber, son of Peter and Assunta (Rea) Rich. Preceded in death by wife former Tess Spinos who died in 1988, brothers Tranquil, Alex, Albert and Charles and sister Helen Papale, Jesse DiMuzio, Mary Hancharick, Julia Oceak, and Beatrice Nespoli. Survived by wife the former Eleanor "Mac" (McNulty) Hironimus and these children: Janice, wife of H. Jay Wingard, Richland Township; Dennis, married to the former Andrea Soika, Johnstown; Sharon, wife of Martin Cicmansky, Windber, and Carol Rich, Geistown, and step-children: Susan, wife of Dennis Wissinger, Johnstown, and Charles Hironimus, married to the former JoAnn Japp, Ligonier. Also survived by grandchildren Beth Mishler, Gregory Wingard, Cara Birrick, Denise Rich, Deborah Drobnak, Angela Rich, Cynthia, Kimberly and Allison Cicmansky, and Jeffrey and Tessa Solensky, and 10 great-grandchildren. Also step-grandchildren, Eric, Jill and Jodi Wissinger, Brett and Scott Hironimus and great-grandson Ajaun Wissinger. Brother of Adeline Wadas, San Jose, Calif. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A 25 year employee of Conemaugh-Blacklick R.R. Lefty was an avid golfer and tennis player. Member of East Hills Recreational Association and Holy Child Jesus Catholic Church, Windber, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Charles Leonardis, pastor. Committal St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery, Windber. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held.
