  RICHARDS
  
  Robert D. Richards, 61, of Somerset died July 16, 2001, at his
  residence.  Born July 20, 1939, in Pavo, Ga., he is the son of the
  late Merle Richards and Thelma (Maxwell) Richards of Meigs, Ga.  Also
  preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Cheryl Kinsinger.  Besides his
  mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Leona June Keith;
  children: Robert Richards Jr. of Alexandria, Va., Judith Marie
  Shirley of Chicago, Roger of Beltsville, Md., Michael of Junction
  City, Va., and Daniel of Texas; stepchildren, David Saylor of Berlin,
  James Saylor of Somerset, and Vicky Bishop of Orlando, Fla.; and
  twenty-two grandchildren.  Brother of Frank of Meigs, Ga., Caroline of
  Orlando, Fla., Dale of Texas, Jerry, Scott and Steven all of Florida.
  Retired U.S. Army veteran with 22 1/2 years of service.  He served
  five tours of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot.  Life member and
  Past Commander of VFW Post 554, Life Member of Disabled American
  Veterans, American Legion, Eagles Aerie 1801, Vietnam Veterans of
  America and Military Order of Cooties.  Friends received 2 to 4 and 7
  to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home,
  Somerset, where service will be held at 1 p-m. Thursday with Rev.
  Daniel Nicksich officiating.  Interment in the Somerset County
  Memorial Park with military honors. Contributions may be made to
  Somerset In Touch Hospice, 1590 North Center Ave., Somerset,
  Somerset, Pa. 15501.
