Rickard passed away Tuesday morning, July 8 at 5:30 at the home of his son, Samuel, 308 Broadway, where he had made his home the last 10 months. He was born in Loysville, Perry County, Pa., April 30, 1852, and was married to Olivia Kistler, who died many years ago. Mr. Rickard was in the merchantile business for 70 years and served as Justice of the Peace for 25 years. He was a member of the Reformed Church and was aged 95 years, 3 months and 5 days when he passed away. Surviving are one son, Samuel S., mentioned above; one daughter, Mrs. Roy A. Kern, Middletown, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Lightner, Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Price Funeral Home until Friday when funeral services will be held at Blain, Pa., at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Dean Feather, officiating. Interment will be in the Loysville cemetery, under direction of W. C. Price & Son, Meyersdale morticians. Meyersdale Republican, July 10, 1947
