  MELVIN RIES
  
  Melvin Ries, 53, of Confluence, died June 21, 1972.  Born April 14,
  1909, in Accident, Md., he was a son of Frederick and Henrietta
  (Ault) Ries.  Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Wright; a
  daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Dorothy) James of Somerset; three
  grandchildren; and two brothers, Criss of Florida and Clarence of
  Baden He was preceded in death by a sister.  He was employed by the
  Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as a signalman supervisor, and was a
  member of the Confluence Lutheran Church, the Confluence Volunteer
  Fire Department, Somerset Eagles and the Brotherhood of Railroad
  Signalmen.  Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon in Humbert
  Funeral Home, with Rev. James Bramer officiating.  Interment in
  Addison Cemetery.
