Ringer, 74, formerly of Rockwood and Berlin, died Jan. 5, 1985, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Altoona. He was born Oct. 10, 1910, in Friendsville, Md., a son of Clinton and Blanche (Frantz) Ringer. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Evelyn Shafer; and a sister, Kathleen. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Heiple, Berlin RD 1; five grandchildren; and II great- grandchildren; also three sisters: Mrs. Florence Wilhelm, Kensington, Md.; Mrs. Thelma Hunt, Frostburg, Md.; and Mrs. Eleanor Farling, Rockwood. He was a former employee of the B&O Railroad, an Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart and three Bronze Battle Stars. He was an honorary lifelong member of the Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, today, at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Ralph E. Mills officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. A memorial service by the Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Daily American, January 7, 1985 [R579]
