Ringer, aged 86, died of old age at his home in Grantsville, Md., Sept. 23rd. He had been ill for several weeks. His wife, Sarah Ellen Ringer, died several years ago, since which time he resided with his daughter here. He was a native of Addison Township, Somerset County, Pa., where he lived most of his life and was engaged in farming. Funeral services were held at the St. Paul (Wilhelm) Church last Sunday. Meyersdale Republican, September 30, 1943 ELISHA J. RINGER Elisha J. Ringer died at his home in Addison Township Sept. 23. He had been ill for several weeks, due to heart trouble and old age. He was born Dec. 1, 1856 and was aged 86 years, 9 months and 21 days. He spent his entire life on a portion of his father's farm on which he was born and reared, and was engaged in farming until a few years ago when he retired on account of infirmities of age. On Dec. 25, 1881, he was married to Sarah Ellen Mort, who preceded him in death. She passed away two years ago. One daughter also preceded him to the grave, having died many years ago. The oldest son, Howard R. Ringer, survived only 12 days after his father's death. Children still surviving are: Lucinda, Mrs. William Butler, Meyersdale R.D. 1; Ferris, Somerset; Hattie, Mrs. Irvin Eichorn, Fort Hill, R.D. 1; Grace, Mrs. Harry Colflesh, Grantsville, Md.; Bertha, Mrs. Omar Cooley, South Connellsville; and Olive, at home. Surviving, also, are one brother, Harvey Ringer, 28 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. Elisha Ringer was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Addison Township. Funeral services for him were conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. S. Shannon, in the church, Sept. 26th, and were largely attended by relatives and friends. The pallbearers were his grandsons, Clark Colflesh, Clyde Eichorn, Robert and Jay Ringer and Paul and Ray Butler.
