RINGER Funeral services were conducted for Howard R. Ringer at his home in Confluence, Saturday afternoon, Rev. J. S. Shannon, former pastor of the Confluence Lutheran Church, coming from his new charge in Millheim to officiate. Mr. Ringer died suddenly Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, following a heart attack. He was 54 years old. Mr. Ringer was owner of the Ringer Independent Oil Co., distributor of Richfield products with bulk plants at Confluence, Masontown, W.Va., and Oakland, Md. He was born in Addison Township. His father, Elisha Ringer, preceded him in death by less than two weeks, having passed away on Sept. 23. His mother, Mrs. Sarah Ellen Ringer, survives, as does his wife, Eva Griffith Ringer, and three children, Lt. Dwane Ringer, U.S. Navy Air Corps, stationed at Bolling Air Field, Washington, D.C.; Pfc. Howard Ringer, Jr., Army Air Corps, stationed at the Army Air Base in Waycross, Ga., and Mrs. James F. Pugh of Confluence; also one granddaughter, Ruth Ann Pugh. These brothers and sisters also survive: Miss Olive Ringer, Addison Township; Mrs. Wm. F. Butler, Brothersvalley Township; Ferris C. Ringer, Somerset; Mrs. Irvin Eichorn, Fort Hill R.D.; Mrs. Harry Colflesh, Grantsville, Md, Mrs. Omer Coolie, South Connellsville. Interment in Addison Cemetery in charge of S. A. Black, mortician.
