RINGER Services were held Sept. 25, 1979, for Howard R. Ringer, Jr., 56 of 7098 Scripps Crescent, Goleta, CA 93017, former owner-operator of Ringer Tri-State Oil Company in Confluence. He was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Confluence. He died Sunday, Sept. 23, 1979, at Goleta Valley Hospital. The Rev. David Aubrey and the Rev. David Beard officiated at the memorial service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church followed by private interment at the Goleta Cemetery. An army veteran of service in the South Pacific during World War II, Mr. Ringer attended the university of Pittsburgh and married Martha Kurtz in Confluence in 1951. They moved to Santa Barbara, CA in 1968. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Kenneth Ringer and Thomas Ringer, both of Goleta, CA; two daughters, Ann Ringer of Goleta, CA, and Sue McKeown of Pismo Beach, CA; and a brother, Dwight Ringer of Confluence.
