Born May 5, 1916, at Salisbury. Son of the late Earl and Lucinda (Lowry) Ringler. Preceded in death by one daughter, Lucinda E.; one son, Barron E.; and two brothers. Survived by wife, the former Marion Twombly; three sons, Darwin E., Frostburg, Md.; Charles E. and Brian E., both of West Salisbury; one daughter, Kathy E. Bodes, Springs; four brothers, Robert, Earl and Karl Ringier, all of Salisbury, and Harry Ringler, Boynton; three sisters, Ethel Harding and Louise Tressler, both of Salisbury, and Ann Marie Anderson, Radcliff, Va.; and seven grandchildren. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a charter member of Walker-Harris Post 8826, VFW, and Earl H. Opel Post 459, American Legion. Served with the 32nd Infantry Division during WWII. He was also a member of Salisbury Sportmen's Association. He was a retired cement mason and was a member of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Newman Funeral Home (formerly Thomas Funeral Home), Salisbury, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW and American Legion.
