All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ MARY ELLEN RINGLER Mrs. Mary Ellen Lentz Ringler passed away January 13, 1949, at her home in Waterloo, Iowa, at the age of 90 years, five months and 10 days. She was born August 3, 1858, on the Samuel Flickinger farm, later occupied by the Bird Brothers, near Meyersdale. She was the last surviving member of twelve children born to the late Jacob and Sarah (Schrock) Lentz. Mary Ellen Lentz was married March 15, 1887, to Norman Ringler by the late Bishop C. G. Lint in the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, of which she became a member early in life. After marriage, she changed her church affiliation to the St. Paul Reformed Church of which her husband was a member. After moving to Iowa their membership was transferred to the First Brethren Church, Waterloo. Mrs. Ringler spent 54 years of her life in the vicinity of Meyersdale. In 1911, the family moved to Waterloo, where her husband preceded her in death by just one year and 18 days. She is survived by four sons, Lloyd of Chicago; Robert, Ernest and Clyde, all of Waterloo, and by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in Kearns Funeral Chapel, January 17, at 2 p.m. Interment was made in Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 27, 1949
