D. Lepley farm, now the Lloyd Hay farm, near St. Paul, Somerset County, Pa., and passed away December 25, 1947, at his home at 1327 Grant Ave., Waterloo, Iowa, at the age of 83 years and 4 months. He was the oldest of nine children born to the late Peter and Sarah Nicholson Ringler. He received his education in the public schools of Somerset County. Early in life he united with St. Paul's Reformed Church, later transferring his membership to the First Brethren Church of Waterloo. Mr. Ringler was united in marriage March 15, 1887, to Mary Ellen Lentz, by the late Bishop C. G. Lint of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren. He was employed by the Hocking and Chapman Coal Co., near Meyersdale, for a number of years. He spent 13 years farming in Elk Lick Twp. In 1911 he moved with his family to Waterloo, Iowa, where he entered the contracting business as a member of the firm, Lentz and Ringler, excavating contractors. Later he was employed by the Rath Packing Co., retiring August 1, 1941, at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife, one sister and four sons - Lloyd, residing in Chicago; Robert and Ernest of Waterloo, and Clyde of Casebeer Heights, and by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted in the Kearns Funeral Chapel, December 29, at 1 p.m. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 1, 1948
