Born Sept. 4, 1933 in Somerset. Son of the late Alexander P. and Mary Emma (Rishel) Ringler. He is survived by: His wife Thelma (McClelland) Ringler whom he married Dec. 4, 1965; daughter Melinda Morrison, New Castle; son Robert E. Ringler Jr., New Castle, and four grandchildren. Brother of Harold Ringler, Holt, Mich.. and Maryann Cotter, Berlin. Former employee of Nickel's Baker where he retired in 1998 after 35 years of retail sales service. He also worked at Sheetz in maintenance. Graduate of Somerset High School and served 16 years in the U.S. Navy and Air Force in both Korea and Vietnam. Volunteered at VA Hospital in Butler. Member of American Legion Post 343 in New Castle, Disabled American Veterans PA Chapter 36, International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 261. Member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., Wilmington Road, New Castle, where service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Marsha Parrish, pastor of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial, Castle View Gardens. Memorial contributions may be Made to Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, RD 2, Box 136, Portersville, Pa. 16051. New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military service.
