Rininger, 74, of East Church St., Somerset, died Nov. 19, 1982, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born June 6, 1908, at Kantner, a son of the late Ross M. and Myrtle (Specht) Rininger. Also preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. Survived by wife, the former Luella E. Schrock; two children: Donald C. Jr. of Waltham, Mass.; Mrs. F. Owen (Rebecca) Bower of Meyersdale; three grandchildren: Erin and Douglas Bower and Donald C. Rininger III. He was a brother of: Mrs. George (Pauline) Horner, Monterey, Calif.; Carl, Johnstown; Mrs. William (Margaret) Griffith, Somerset; Mrs. James (Catherine) Powell and Kenneth, both of Stoystown RD 2; Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Koontz, Windber; and Daniel of Stoystown. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset County Historical Society. SAR. past president of the Somerset Lions Club. He was a graduate of Juniata College and received his M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. He spent 42 years in public education and retired in 1970 as the assistant district superintendent of Somerset Area Schools. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery.
