Ritenour, 65, of Melcroft, died Jan. 21, 2002 at his home. He was born Oct. 29, 1936 at Davistown, a son of Edna Kalp Ritenour of Melcroft and the late Clarence Ritenour. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Ritenour, one grandson, Jeffrey Ritenour Jr., a brother. Richard Ritenour, and a sister, Betty Trice. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Ida Kalp Ritenour; eight children, Ronald Ritenour and his wife Patty of Champion Linda Hostetler and her husband Ken of Markleysburg, Paul Ritenour of Melcroft, Jeffrey Ritenour and his wife Connie of Melcroft, Randy Ritenour and his wife Dana of Indian Head, Ted Ritenour and his wife Lori of Acme, Kenneth Ritenour and his wife Barbara of Indian Head and Trudy Stairs and her husband Kevin of White; 27 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Ritenour and his wife Janet of Melcroft and Jerry Ritenour and his wife Kirsten of Acme, and three sisters, Geraldine Cramer and her husband Frank of Melcroft, Faye Romesburg, and her husband Harry of Rockwood, and Mabel Thomas and her husband William of Donegal. Mr. Ritenour was the owner and operator of Ritenour Lumber Co. of Melcroft. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing softball and was the sponsor of the Ritenour Softball Team. He was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where service will he held at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Paul Freidhof officiating.
