George Oliver Ritter died at his home in Confluence on Wednesday, January 10, 1945. The son of John J. Ritter and Lucinda (Albright) Ritter, he was born October 8, 1869, in Northumberland County, Pa. He was graduated from a missionary institute in 1894, from Gettysburg College, in 1896, and from the theological seminary of Susquehanna University in 1899. He was married to Miss Anna Mary Boyer of Selinsgrove. To them were born two sons, Lt. John M. Ritter, stationed in Texas, and George Walter, who died at Westernport, Md., in 1917, and a daughter, Mrs. Walter Brown of Cleveland, O. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Margaret Lindauer of Northumberland County, and nine grandchildren. Rev. Ritter served the following parishes: Chapman, Kansas; Walton, Ind.; East McKeesport, Pa.; Jeannette, Pa.; Westernport, Md.; and Addison, Confluence. Funeral services were held in the Confluence Lutheran Church last Saturday at 2:30. The present pastor, Rev. James V. Guss, officiated. Music was rendered by the Lutheran Church choir. The pallbearers were: Harry W. Lenhart, C.C. Shaffer, Homer Rush, Lloyd Bender, Joseph Critchfield and E. L. Beggs. Interment was in the Addison Cemetery under the direction of C. B. Humbert. Among those attending the funeral services were: R. E. Boyer of Detroit, Mich., Miss C. Alberta Boyer of Baltimore, Mrs. Jessie Boyer, Edwin Boyer, and Mrs. Edward Rhaun of Catanissa, Pa.
