"Kay" 08/05/08 Daily American Catherine M. "Kay" Roberts, 77, Rockwood, died Aug. 4, 2008, in Pittsburgh. Born Oct. 11, 1930, in Clarksville, the daughter of the late John and Katheryn Murdy. Also preceded in death by stepbrother, Mike Barnek and wife, Elizabeth. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Leroy E. Roberts; daughter, Karen L. Roberts and Milan J. Kralik Jr., Spinnerstown; son, John D. Roberts and wife Karen, Costa Mesa, Calif.; step-grandchildren, Nicole M. Oberreuter-Rodi and husband, Kevin and Brian D. Oberreuter; step-great-grandson, Natheniel Johnathan Oberreuter-Rodi. Also survived by brothers, William Murdy, Houston, Texas; Joseph Murdy and wife, Theresa, North Royalton, Ohio; John Murdy and wife, Gloria, Streetsboro, Ohio; sisters, Barbara Ganoczy, Annapolis, Md.; Helen Iverson and husband, Ron, Newtown; stepsisters, Ann Hughes and Mary Castana, both of Charleroi; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Women's Society and the Red Hat Society. She was very proud of her beautiful rose garden, her African violets and her bountiful vegetable garden. She was a retired manager of the Somerset branch of the Uniontown Motor Club and a homemaker, a 1948 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School and volunteered at Meals On Wheels. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, the time of service, in the Calvary United Methodist Church, Somerset. The Rev. Ruth Ann Campagna officiating.
