  Evan Eugene Roberts, 59, of Laughlintown (Westmoreland County) died
  Dec. 31, 1996, at IHS of Mountain View Nursing Home, Greensburg.  Born
  July 29, 1937, in Hollsopple.  Son of Paul E. and Nancy (Eash) Roberts.
  Preceded in death by father; son, Kenneth E., on June 1, 1986;
  stepbrother, Lewis Ream, and stepfather, Phillip Impala.  Survived by
  mother, Nancy Impala, Johnstown; stepmother Alice, (Wrestley)
  Roberts, Boswell RD 1; wife, the former Annabelle (Rhodes); children,
  Brian and wife Janice, Laughlintown; Sgt. Evan, U.S. Army, and wife
  Diane, Jeannette; step-granddaughter, Jessica; and mother-in-law, Ada
  Rhodes, Boswell RD 2.  Stepbrother of Carol (Ream), wife of Edward
  Eckenrod, Hallstead; half-brother of Barry Roberts, married to
  Patricia Nitch, Jennerstown.  Member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle,
  Jennerstown; Ligonier Post 734, VFW; Ligonier Post 267, American
  Legion; Air Force Sergeants Association; and Laughlintown Protective
  Association.  Life member of the North American Hunting Club.  Retired
  in 1986 as Sr. Master Sgt., USAF, with 31 years service.  Friends will
  be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman
  Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at
  10:30 a.m. Friday, Pastors C.J. Ickes and Gary Anderson officiating.
  Interment, Beam Cemetery near Gray.  Graveside military rite in the
  charge of Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
