He was born in Acosta, Pa., on Sept. 30, 1923, and was the son of the late Horace and Bertha Roberts. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen (Parsons) Roberts; two stepdaughters, Margaret Flowers of Corbin, Ky., and Patricia Sisseck of Tulsa, Okla.; one stepson, Chauncey Bailey III of Greenville, Miss.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Ash of Somerset and Eyleen Beistel of Tampa, Fla. Mr. Roberts had lived in Chattanooga for the last 19 years. He was a private first class with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and a member of the American Legion and was Presbyterian by faith. The family received friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, Grafton, W. Va., on Thursday. Graveside military rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, W Va. Interment, West Virginia National Cemetery. The military rites will be conducted at by the VFW Memorial City Post 3081, American Legion Taylor County Post 12 and the DAV Chapter 24 of Grafton.
